Prevent High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) by follow a healthy diet.

Modification in the diet, is an easy way to prevent this chronic condition. It is discussed below: One should choose foods that are low in cholesterol, calories and fats. Reducing the intake of salt to maintain normal blood pressure is also important. Processed or canned foods contain high amounts of salt, so eating these foodstuffs in moderation is advised. While preparing your own meals, make sure you use salt in moderate amounts. Instead of salt, one can use lemon juice or herbs like garlic to enhance the taste. Avoid fatty foods, as they can increase your blood pressure to dangerous levels. Eating a high fiber, low-fat diet, rich in vegetables and fruits can also help prevent hypertension. Studies have shown that potassium plays a key role to maintain healthy blood pressure. Many vegetables, dairy foods and fruits are rich in potassium, and so should be included in your diet. Long-term increase in blood pressure is also observed if the diet is low in magnesium. Whole grains, nuts, seeds, and green leafy vegetables contain magnesium. So ensure that these foods are an integral part of your diet. It is also essential to decrease the intake of alcoholic drinks, as long term abuse of alcohol can chronically increase blood pressure to abnormally high levels. Studies have shown that in order to maintain normal blood pressure, men should not consume more than two pints of alcohol a day while women should have not more than one pint a day.

Although, a majority of people are well aware of the benefits, yet many don't pursue it actively. This can be because of the busy schedule that all of us follow, but there are many people who don't indulge in any form of activity because they are not completely aware about its importance. Kidney Infection Symptoms in Men.

Symptoms Pain and difficulty during urination is the most prominent symptom of kidney infection, other kidney diseases, and of urinary tract infection. Apart from that, the following symptoms may also be seen: Burning sensation or pain while urinating Strong, frequent urge for urination Frequent urination at night (nocturia) Blood in urine (hematuria) Strong/foul smelling urine Fever Pain in groin Pain in lower abdomen Nausea Vomiting Diarrhea Night sweats Chills Fatigue Loss of appetite Weakness/tiredness Pain in the lower abdomen, that begins in the abdomen but travels to the back, is also one of the significant symptoms of kidney infection. Sometimes, the symptoms may be mild and not easily identifiable. However, any discomfort, feeling of confusion, etc., should be bought to the doctor's notice immediately. Although rare, if the infection is not timely treated, it can lead to life-threatening conditions.

Three Basic Types of Fungal Infections.

Infections of Skin and Nails There are different types of fungal skin infections, like ringworm, tinea versicolor, jock itch, and athlete's foot. Fungus prefers the warm and moist areas of the skin. Both mold and yeast affect the skin. Among the various types of fungal skin infections, athlete's foot or Tinea pedis is the most common one, and affects both men and women alike. It affects the web spaces between the toes, and the skin of that part becomes soggy and itchy. It can turn pale and scaly too. Jock itch or ringworm of the groin (Tinea cruris) causes red rash in the groin area. The affected area can be itchy, and the condition is commonly found in men who sweat a lot. Ringworm of the body or Tinea corporis is mostly seen in exposed areas, like limbs and abdomen. These red rashes have scaly edges that surround clear skin. Ringworm of the scalp is otherwise known as Tinea capitis, which is characterized by patches on the scalp, along with hair loss and swelling of that area. Fungus on the skin includes nail fungus infections (onychomycosis), and ringworm of the nails (Tinea unguium) is the most common one. This condition makes the nails abnormally thick and crumbly. Yeast Infections Yeast is a type of fungus that is the causal agent of various fungal infections. Such infection of the mouth (oral thrush) is characterized by a white coating of the tongue, inner cheeks, gums, and tonsils. This coating, when scraped, may bleed and may also cause pain. Oral thrush is caused by Candida albicans fungus. This fungus may affect the esophagus and the intestines too. Candida albicans may also affect the mucous membrane of the vagina; and cause symptoms, like itchiness and thick white discharge, along with painful urination. In case of men, it causes painful red rash on the tip of the penis. Infections of Internal Organs There are many other types of fungal infections that affect the brain and lungs. Fungal meningitis causes inflammation of the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord, and is caused by a fungus called Cryptococcus. Even though, the symptoms may vary from one person to another, the most common ones are headaches, drowsiness and confusion. Another fungus, called Aspergillus, which is a mold, causes bloodstream infections in people affected with cancer and HIV/AIDS. Other types include coccidioidomycosis that also known as valley fever, blastomycosis, fungal arthritis, fungal sinus infection, histoplasmosis that affects vision; and mucormycosis characterized by pain, fever, infection of eye socket and nasal discharge. Early diagnosis and treatment are very much important to prevent spread of infection and for relief from the symptoms. Excess use of antibiotics, a weak immune system, diabetes, poor personal hygiene, etc., are cited as factors that make people prone to fungal infections.

Pomegranate Benefits for the Skin

There are two methods of availing pomegranate skin benefits, you can either opt for cosmetic formulations or use it in its most natural form. Cosmetic creams use an extract of pomegranate seeds and combine it with an array of other chemical ingredients. As a result, most of the properties are lost due to over-processing. Moreover, these products are often very expensive and do not produce desired results. The best solution to overcome this problem is by applying homemade pomegranate juice on your skin. Put a handful of pomegranate seeds in a blender to make juice. Strain it and apply it directly on your skin or any affected area. Since, no processing or artificial ingredients are involved, the properties remain intact. Thus, natural pomegranate juice is the best way to get maximum benefits. Pomegranate benefits for skin are myriad, however, you need to use it for a prolonged period of time to actually notice the results. In the meanwhile, you can also get rid of any health problems concerned with digestion or circulation.

Smile for a Healthy Heart.

Smile for healthy heart.
Did you know that laughing actually improves your blood circulation? Take a look at yourself the next time you laugh over something - the extremities of your face - particularly your nose tip and your ears - will have probably gone red and hot! It has been proved now that laughter causes the endothelium of blood vessels to dilate. Laughing also causes the body to release nitrous oxide, or the laughing gas as it is commonly called. And what's more - seeing someone laugh makes you smile, then grin ear to ear, and finally laugh yourself! And that is what forms the basis of Dr. Madan Kataria's brainchild, Hasyayoga - or Laughter Yoga. The source of laughter in these groups, where laughter is an exercise rather than just an expression, is not humor. But anyone passing by one of the Hasyayoga groups would burst out laughing looking at them anyway. Increased laughter means better blood circulation, which in turn ensures the health of your body, and particularly that of your heart.

Secrets to Losing Weight Quickly .

To shed pounds rapidly, you need to keep in mind that the calories you take in should be less than what you burn. For instance, burning over 500 calories a day from high-intensity workouts and an hour of playing sports should help you lose a couple of pounds in a week.
This means, to lose weight in 2 weeks, you will have to make some tweaks to your diet by not loading up on excess calories while increasing your physical activity level.
However, it is not advisable to cut down your calorie intake to less than 1,050 a day, particularly if you have a very active lifestyle. Going far below 1,200 or 1,050 calories daily can be detrimental to your health, which defeats the purpose of trying to lose weight.
It is best that you consult your doctor to determine the right amount of calories you need, as well as the types of workouts suitable to your specific condition.
Diet and Lifestyle Matter
Primarily, weight loss is made possible with a combination of proper diet and regular exercise. When it comes to the right diet, you need to start by cutting back on starchy and high-sodium foods, since by doing so, you can minimize fluid retention.
Although this can lead to losing weight coming from fluids instead of fat, it is a good way to start. Afterwards, you can incorporate a more wholesome diet that includes mainly vegetables, fruits, non-dairy food products, and some nuts or seeds.
As you try to lose weight, there may be instances when you feel some serious cravings that can ruin your diet. To prevent intense appetite, you should take in more vegetables and fiber-rich foods such as whole grains and fruits that could keep you satiated for longer hours.
In addition, avoid skipping meals as this brings down your blood sugar level and puts you at higher risk of overeating or having hunger pangs. You should also keep yourself hydrated by drinking water, fresh fruit juices, coconut water and your green smoothie that could fill you up without extra calories.
Combine your diet plan with some workouts that can speed up your metabolism to help you burn calories faster.
To lose weight in 2 weeks, you should engage in moderate-intensity exercises, strength training and cardio for at least 1 hour daily.
Just be sure to do your warm ups first and make it a point to seek professional advice from your doctor or fitness trainer before you start a new workout routine.
This is very important if you have an existing medical condition that may only be aggravated by the wrong types of exercise that are not appropriate for you.

Hypertension , how to beat it ?

Well, you need a tremendous willpower and openness to change the lifestyle, which is the basic cause of hypertension. Unfortunately, very few people have the flexibility and determination to do it.
It is quite easy to avoid hypertension by following some simple measures. The only thing is; one has to be consistent and determined for it.
• Avoid salt: Limit the consumption of salt. It holds extra water and puts unnecessary load on the heart and blood vessels. Reduce the amount of salt in the daily diet. Refrain from fast foods and processed foods.
• Avoid Alcohol: If you can’t stop it completely, then limit the consumption. The more alcohol you consume, the higher is the risk.
• Avoid Caffeine: Caffeine causes a sudden surge in blood pressure. Avoid it if you feel uneasiness after a cup of coffee.
• Avoid sugar: Though there is no direct correlation, excessive sugar increases weight which in turn increases blood pressure.
• Avoid stress: Stress is one of the biggest reasons of hypertension. You can avoid it by positive thinking, meditation, Yogic exercises, and breathing control.
• Avoid excessive weight: Reduce your weight to optimum levels because the more weight yu put on, higher is the blood pressure.
